Knight Lawn Care

About Knight Lawn Care

June dusk along Wild Horse Creek brings the fireflies up out of the grass and takes the last light off the ridgelines. Knight Lawn Care is finishing a route about then in southeast Osage County, the day's mowing done, the edges cut in, the trimmer put away, the concrete swept. Bermuda and fescue both grow hard here in early summer, so the cuts come close together and the height is held steady rather than scalped down. Whatever comes off the lawn goes onto the trailer and out with the crew. A yard finished at that hour, cooling off with its lines still crisp, is a fine thing to look back at from the road.
