A Better Lawn

About A Better Lawn

Wind comes off Lake Hefner before almost anything else does — it crosses the water, bends the Bermuda flat, and then gets on with the day. A Better Lawn works into that wind, cutting clean lines while the sailboats are still tied off and the joggers are still shadows on the trail. Mowing, trimming, edging: it sounds simple until you see a yard where every pass lands where it should and the driveway line runs true as a chalk mark. By August the heat on this side of Oklahoma City can flatten a person by ten in the morning, so the work starts early and finishes cool. The reward is a lawn that looks intentional — the kind you notice from the street without quite knowing why.
