Okie Landscaping & Hauling

About Okie Landscaping & Hauling

Northwest of Lawton the prairie breaks open into granite, Mount Scott standing over the Wichitas, and the same red dirt that stains those slopes runs under every yard in town. Okie Landscaping & Hauling works that dirt — mowing and edging through the long southwest Oklahoma summer, shaping beds and borders, then loading the trailer with the brush, clippings and old limbs nobody wants left sitting. There is a plain satisfaction in a lot that was cluttered at breakfast and swept open by afternoon, the tailgate shut, the ground showing again. Edges come out straight along a drive, clean as a fence line running off toward the hills. When the truck pulls away, what's left is grass, and room to walk it.
