Big W Lawns

About Big W Lawns

July in Inola arrives with cicadas in the blackjack oaks and heat rising off the red dirt drives by ten in the morning. Big W Lawns works through it, mowing Bermuda that grows an inch overnight after a thunderstorm and trimming the fence lines a mower deck cannot reach. There is a rhythm to a Rogers County summer: cut, blow the walks, move on before the shade leaves the front yard. Every stop ends with the concrete swept bare and a yard that looks cooler than it did an hour before. Come evening the whole town smells like cut grass, which is its own kind of proof.
