12 Gage Lawn and Tree Service

About 12 Gage Lawn and Tree Service

In Guymon the wind gets to work before anybody else does, combing the shortgrass flat and leaning on every tree the town ever planted on purpose. 12 Gage Lawn and Tree Service moves inside that steady push — mowing, edging and trimming yards that earn their green three thousand feet up, and shaping the elms and hackberries in the shelterbelts that keep the grit off a porch. Thinning a windbreak right is its own reward: light comes down through the gap and the grass underneath finally quits sulking. Borders here get cut straight because the country is straight, and a clean line against Panhandle caliche reads as something somebody meant. Storm limbs come down, brush goes to the trailer, and the yard is handed back open to the sky again.
