Government Springs Park still holds the water that once drew trail herds up out of the Cherokee Strip, and each spring the redbuds along it come on purple before anything else in Enid has decided to wake. Peak Environment takes its cue from that turn in the year with mowing, shrub and hedge trimming, fresh mulch in the beds, and the cleanups that clear winter out of a yard. There is a real satisfaction in the moment a hedge line comes true and dark mulch settles against new green. Summer on this ground tests everything that grows, so the yard gets tended on a schedule rather than a whim. By the time the heat finally breaks, the place looks like someone has been paying attention all along.
