December in Edmond gets dark early, and the cold arrives clear — a sky with no weather in it and the bermuda gone tan across every lawn in town. Hunter Lawn Landscape & Holiday Lighting works both halves of that calendar: the mowing and trimming that runs from April into October, and the strings of lights that go up along rooflines and porch rails once the leaves are hauled away. Fall cleanups come first, since nobody wants a ladder standing in six inches of oak leaves. Then an ordinary block turns into something worth driving down slowly. When spring comes the ladders go back in the trailer and the mowers come out again.
