G & R

About G & R

Highway 81 follows the old cattle route straight through the middle of Duncan, and at dawn in September the pavement is quiet enough to hear a mower running two blocks over. G & R starts early on mornings like that, working yard to yard while the dew is still down and the day has not turned hot yet. Mowing, trimming, edging and cleanup — the same four things, done in the same order, on every visit. By mid-morning the trailer has moved three times and a whole row of houses along one street looks like it belongs to the same well-kept week. There is a plain, unfussy pride in running a route that way.
