First light over the blackjack hills east of Drumright comes slow and gray, and dew stays on the Bermuda until the sun clears the post oaks. ELD Field Services gets the mowing started in that cool hour, while the red dirt roads out toward Tiger Creek are still quiet. Wide lots take the mower deck; fencerows, shed corners and culvert edges take the trimmer; then the concrete gets cleared and the gate goes back up. By the time heat settles onto the sandstone hills, a whole run of yards is cut and squared away. It is plain work, done early, and it shows from the road all week.
