A June evening in Cushing goes on forever. The heat lets go around six, the light turns gold across the ballfields and the open ground on the east side of town, and the whole place seems to exhale. EG Mowing works the back half of days like that, cutting lawns while the grass is cool, trimming the fence lines and foundations, edging the drive, and clearing the cuttings before the last of the light is gone. Grass grows hard in an Oklahoma June, and staying on rhythm with it matters more than anything fancy. Pulling out of a yard at dusk with the lines even and the edges tight is about as good as this work gets.
