Sprague's Kik'n Grass

About Sprague's Kik'n Grass

Saturday morning in Collinsville starts with trailers rolling out past Main Street before the heat gets ambitious. Sprague's Kik'n Grass is on that road early — decks down, first yard cut while there's still cool in the air off the Bird Creek bottoms. Summer in this stretch north of Tulsa pushes bermuda hard, and the answer is showing up on the day you said you would, mowing it even, trimming out the corners and the mailbox and the AC pad, and running a sharp edge down the sidewalk. Clippings go off the concrete, not down the storm drain, and the street is left the way it was found. Late in the year the routes shift to leaves, and the same yards come back around for the haul-off.
