Sawney Mowing

About Sawney Mowing

Route 66 runs straight through the middle of Claremore, and by late July the heat comes off that old pavement in visible sheets. Sawney Mowing builds a day around it: start early, chase the shade, keep the deck high so an Oklahoma afternoon does not scorch what was just cut. Mowing, trimming along fence lines and mailbox posts, edging where the turf tries to creep over the curb, and clippings sent back into the yard instead of down the storm drain. A lawn cut properly in August looks like it is holding its breath and winning. Come evening the mower rides home hot, and the row of trimmed yards behind it reads like one long, even sentence.
