About Mid-West Grass Station LLC

There is a morning in early May when Bristow lawns finally give up their winter straw color all at once, and the whole town turns green between one week and the next. Mid-West Grass Station LLC builds its year around that turn: the first cuts kept a little high, then lowered as the Bermuda thickens and starts running. Mowing goes down in alternating directions week to week so the grass stands rather than lays over, and edges are cut sharp enough to draw a line along the drive. Through the July stretch, when the sky goes white with heat and rain forgets the county, the height comes back up to keep roots shaded. It is grass work, first to last, from the greening to the day it lets go in November.
