About Striped Lawns, LLC

Mowing stripes is a trick of light and nothing more — grass bent one way throws shade, bent the other throws sun — and on a June afternoon in Blanchard it turns a plain front yard into something with rhythm. Striped Lawns, LLC lays those passes deliberately, straight off a fixed line, alternating so the pattern reads all the way from the street. Underneath the pattern sits the ordinary care that makes it possible: an even cutting height, trimmed fence lines, edges cut clean along the drive. Turn the passes the other direction next week and the whole yard changes character. It's the kind of detail somebody notices at the mailbox and thinks about for a second, which is exactly the point.
