Ironvale Lawns

About Ironvale Lawns

Six in the morning, mid-July, and Blanchard is already warm. Ironvale Lawns is out in it anyway, because this is the hour the grass cuts best — dew still on the blades, shade holding along the tree line, the heat an hour or two from becoming the whole story. Mowing, trimming, edging, then everything blown off the concrete before the sun clears the treetops. By the time the day turns brutal the yards are done and the lines run clean across them. There is a particular quiet in a finished lawn at eight in the morning, and chasing it is most of the reason for the early start.
