About Blackbird outdoor industries

On a Blackwell evening the blackbirds cross in loose ribbons toward the timber along the Chikaskia, and the whole prairie sky goes gold behind them. Blackbird outdoor industries works right up to that hour — mowing, string trimming, edging drives and sidewalks, clearing cut grass off the pavement and out of the beds. There is a great deal of open ground in north-central Oklahoma and almost nothing to hide a crooked line, so the passes get run straight and the corners get finished properly. Spring rain brings everything up at once and the schedule tightens; by October the work has turned to leaves and the last cuts of the year. A well-kept yard on a wide street is a small, good thing to come home to.
