Rooted Lawn & Landscape

About Rooted Lawn & Landscape

April along the Caney River is all pale sycamore bark and redbud smoke, and the lawns of Bartlesville wake up hungry. Rooted Lawn & Landscape starts its year right there — the first cut of the season, the winter thatch carried off, the beds given a straight shoulder to lean against. The name is the whole idea: what shows on top depends on what is happening underneath, and grass mowed at the right height in spring will hold its color deep into the Oklahoma heat. Week by week the routine builds — mow, edge, trim, clear the clippings — until a yard reads as one calm green surface from the curb. It is slow, ordinary work, and it makes a street look cared for.
