the Green Team

About the Green Team

The first mow of the year in Ada usually lands in March, after one warm week wakes the turf and the yards go from straw to green in a matter of days. the Green Team runs that opening pass north toward Byng and back through town, cutting away the winter thatch, re-cutting the walk edges, hauling off everything the cold months piled into the corners. From there it becomes a weekly turn that holds all the way to the final leaf sweep. There is something plain and satisfying about a lawn getting its shape back — sharp along the driveway, even from curb to porch. Homeowners hand off the chore, and the calendar becomes somebody else's to keep.
