About Carano's Services & Garden Center

From the bluff where Fellows Riverside Gardens looks out over the Mahoning valley, you can watch Youngstown change its mind about spring three separate times in one week. Carano's Services & Garden Center keeps a calendar built for exactly that kind of place: mowing and trimming once the ground firms up, tidy beds and shaped shrubs through the long green middle of the year, then plows and salt when the sky loads up from the northwest. A lawn cut on schedule stays thick enough to shrug off August; a drive opened early enough keeps a morning from going sideways. The work is unglamorous and it shows, in a strip of turf that greens up ahead of the neighbors and in blacktop that is simply, quietly bare. Two halves of one valley year, both handled.
