About Purgreen Group

Some winter nights the lake simply does not stop giving. A band sets up off the open water, parks itself over Lake County, and drops more on Willowick in six hours than the forecast allowed for the entire day. Purgreen Group runs through nights like that — plowing driveways and lots, going back for the second and third pass, keeping banks from choking the entrances, salting the ice that hides under a fresh inch. Walks and steps are cleared by hand so nobody has to guess at the footing. When it finally breaks near sunrise and the light comes pink over the water, the drives are already open.
