Eden's Excavating

About Eden's Excavating

Lake Erie makes its own winter, and Willoughby lives in the path of it: a band sets up over the water and by three in the morning the Chagrin River valley has taken another six inches. Eden's Excavating is out in that, plowing driveways and lots across Lake County, stacking the banks where they will not block a sightline, then going back through when the band swings around for a second helping. Ice under fresh snow is the real hazard here, so walks and aprons get salted down to bare surface. By the time Erie Street starts moving, the entrances are open and the crossings are safe. Snowbelt winter asks for patience and long hours, and the reward is a town that gets to go to work.
