About Salt World Wickliffe

Beneath Lake Erie, out past the Cleveland shore, there are salt mines running under the water — which makes de-icing something close to a hometown material around here. Salt World Wickliffe puts it to work: salting and de-icing lots, drives and walkways, and plowing snow off the pavement first so the treatment does its job instead of hiding under six inches. Freeze-thaw is the real opponent in this town, meltwater running across a walk at dusk and setting up hard by nine. Timing an application matters as much as the amount of it. When a surface stays dark and walkable straight through a January night, the work has done exactly what it was for.
