About Kasey's Outdoor Services

Winter reaches West Milton before the town is awake — snow stacking along the Stillwater River, the falls at Ludlow icing at their edges, every driveway in the village filling in. Kasey's Outdoor Services is out in that dark, plowing lots and drives, shoveling walks and steps, spreading salt where the ice sets up hardest. There is a particular satisfaction in a drive opened before dawn: headlights come on, the car backs out onto bare pavement, and nobody has to think about it. Miami County storms arrive wet and heavy or dry and blowing, and each one gets read on the spot. The night's work ends when the last stretch of concrete is black again.
