About Lester's Landscaping Unlimited

At three in the morning, after the wind has carried Erie's snow inland and laid it across Weathersfield township, the roads go still and blue and everything sounds far away. Lester's Landscaping Unlimited is out in that hour, plowing driveways, opening lots along the Route 46 corridor, shoveling the steps and the path to the front door, and putting salt down so the midday melt does not set up as glass by dark. Lake-effect arrives here in bands, generous one mile and stingy the next, so the night is spent reading the sky as much as the pavement. The measure of it all is simple and unglamorous: a car backs out at six without a second's hesitation, and nobody has to think about the storm at all. That is the whole ambition, repeated every time the clouds line up off the lake.
