About Waterville Irrigation

West of the river the country flattens into what used to be the Black Swamp — deep dark soil, enormous sky, and weather that arrives with plenty of warning and no mercy. Waterville Irrigation works that open ground: mowing, trimming, edging and mulching through the green months, cleanups spring and fall, then plowing, walkway clearing and salting once the wind starts moving snow across the fields sideways. Flat land grows grass beautifully and drifts snow terribly, and both facts make the schedule. The first pass of the summer season and the first pass of the winter one do the same thing — a property goes from overgrown or buried to obviously looked after. Waterville sits between the metroparks and the farm country, and the work reflects both.
