Mike's Tree Service

About Mike's Tree Service

Follow the Vermilion River south out of town and the banks turn to shale and hardwood, the yards along those back roads sitting under trees that were tall before the driveways were poured. Mike's Tree Service works that inland half of the township — pruning young hardwoods into form, trimming mature ones where they crowd a roof, removing the ones the riverbank has quietly given up on. Spring is the loud season, high water and hard wind arriving together, and storm cleanup then means a saw going before breakfast and an open lane by noon. Every removal ends the same way: the wood down safely, the ruts avoided, the lawn raked so the grass comes back without a scar. In a valley like this one, paying attention is most of the job.
