Monroe Grounds Maintenance

About Monroe Grounds Maintenance

North of Troy the Great Miami swings under the Eldean covered bridge and the county opens into fields and river bottom, where weather that will reach town shows itself first. Monroe Grounds Maintenance keeps a week that answers to it — mowing, edging and trimming on the warm side of the year, plowing, shoveling and salting on the cold. Grounds work is a discipline of returning: the same lots, the same walks, the same stubborn corners, each visit leaving them a little more squared away than the last. In February that means a lot cleared before the first car arrives; in June it means turf cut level all the way to the fence line. Troy notices the difference even when it can't quite name it.
