Diversified Snow & Ice

About Diversified Snow & Ice

By two in the morning the Anthony Wayne Trail belongs to plow lights and salt, and the big lots off it are blank white pages waiting to be read. Diversified Snow & Ice works that hour — plowing, stacking, clearing walks and treating pavement so a business opens on time and nobody arrives sideways. Toledo's freeze-thaw is the real adversary: melt in the afternoon, glaze by dusk, and a lot that looked fine at closing is a rink by six. Handling it means going back, watching the sky, and getting salt down before ice ever takes a grip. The measure of the night is undramatic and complete — an empty lot, black pavement, doors open.
