Bode Lawn & Landscape

About Bode Lawn & Landscape

Morning in Sunfish Township begins as fog, held down in the hollows while the oak-and-hickory ridges above it are already in sun. Bode Lawn & Landscape mows in that country, where a yard is whatever level ground a family carved out of the hillside and the rest tilts off toward Sunfish Creek. It takes patience — cutting across a grade, trimming out the steep corners by hand, edging the gravel drive where it meets grass, then blowing the walk clean. By the time the fog lifts off these Pike County foothills the lawns along the road look deliberate, a run of tidy green against all that timber. Late in the year the leaves come down off the ridges in earnest, and the cleanup work carries on until the woods are bare.
