About Shafer Lawn Co.

There is an hour in a Springfield July, right before the light goes gold, when a freshly mown lawn looks its best and the heat finally lets go. Shafer Lawn Co. works toward that hour — mowing, trimming, edging, walks blown clean, the last pass of the day laid down straight. Ohio turf in midsummer wants a taller cut and a sharp blade, and getting that right keeps a yard green while others go brown. Nothing about it is complicated; it is the same attention, every week, until the season turns and the leaves need hauling. Then the mower comes off the trailer again in April and it all begins over.
