Houston's Lawn Care and Firewood

About Houston's Lawn Care and Firewood

October in the Scioto hills turns the ridges above town every shade of rust and gold, and the grass slows down just as the woodpiles start going up. Houston's Lawn Care and Firewood works both ends of that turn — the last mowings and trim-outs of the season, and the split hardwood that gets stacked against the cold coming. Around here a full rick under the eaves is its own kind of comfort, the sound of a stove door closing on a wet November night. The lawn side of the year stays just as deliberate: mowed even, edges reopened, leaves cleared off the grass before they mat down. One trade feeds the other, and both of them follow the same hills through the same year.
