Snowplowing & De-Icing

About Snowplowing & De-Icing

The Portage Lakes were dug and dammed to feed a canal, and they hold winter in a way ordinary ground never does — the wind comes off open ice and finds every driveway between Turkeyfoot and Nimisila. Snowplowing & De-Icing does what the name says: plowing drives and lots, clearing walks and steps, and laying down ice control on the short steep approaches that lakeside houses tend to have. Storms here can drop overnight and be gone by ten, but the six a.m. commute doesn't wait on a melt. There is genuine pleasure in that final pass of the blade — the drive squared, the salt going down, the house still asleep. Coventry Township, Green and the south Akron neighborhoods around the water are all within reach.
