Chuck's Auto Repair and Snowplowing

About Chuck's Auto Repair and Snowplowing

Lake Erie sends its snow inland overnight, and Pepper Pike wakes to a foot of it lying soft under old oaks on streets that curve and never quite straighten. Chuck's Auto Repair and Snowplowing is out well before that — plowing long private drives in the dark, stacking the banks where they won't block a sightline, clearing walkways down to pavement, and putting ice melt where the shade will keep things frozen all day. Winter here comes in waves rather than single storms, and the work goes with them. The reward is small and complete: headlights on a black driveway at six in the morning and somebody getting to work without a second thought. By the time the sun comes up over the beeches, the drives are already open.
