About Dathan Mountjoy Mowing and Lawn Care

There is a particular smell to a Penn township June — cut hay in the fields, dust off the gravel lane, dew burning off a lawn by nine in the morning. Dathan Mountjoy Mowing and Lawn Care keeps to that hour, mowing while the ground is firm and the day is still cool, striping the open yards and running the trimmer around the porch posts and the old fence line. Edges get cut back along the drive so the grass stops where it should. It is unhurried work with a visible end, which is most of the appeal. Come November the leaves and the last of the growth get cleared off, and the yard rests.
