Black Swamp Tree Services

About Black Swamp Tree Services

Paulding County was the last of the Great Black Swamp to give way — a hundred miles of standing water and elm timber drained by hand into ditches that still run arrow-straight through the corn. Black Swamp Tree Services works the ground that came out of it: the shelterbelts along the section roads, the shade trees in town, the big soft maples on the banks of the Auglaize. Trimming and pruning keep them off barns, wires and rooflines; removals come down in open country with plenty of room and no room for error. Weather crosses this flatland with nothing at all to slow it, and after a storm has laid a tree across a lane, cleanup gets the wood out and the lane open. It is honest work in a place that was made by honest work.
