Morning fog gathers in the low ground along the South Fork of the Licking River and burns off slowly, and Davis Lawn and Landscape is usually out working in it. Warm months mean mowing, trimming and cleanups on a steady weekly turn through Pataskala's older streets and its newer cul-de-sacs alike. Winter flips the work over entirely: plowing drives, clearing walks, and salting the ice that central Ohio's freeze-and-thaw keeps making and remaking. The aim on a January morning is simple — the driveway open and the walkway gritted before the first school bus comes down the road. Between Pataskala, Etna, Reynoldsburg and Blacklick that adds up to a lot of dark starts and a lot of clear pavement.
