About Access Granted Snow Removal

Out here the roads run straight at the horizon and the wind has nothing standing in its way, so a January squall comes in sideways and packs a driveway shut before four in the morning. Access Granted Snow Removal works that hour — headlights, a blade, and a lane cut open from the garage door to the county road while Ottawa township is still dark around the courthouse square. Plowing drives and lots, shoveling walks, spreading salt and sand where the ice sets up hard along the shaded side of a house. The point of the name is the point of the job: a way out, before anyone needs it. There is a particular satisfaction in hearing a car pull off a property easily onto a road that was closed by drifting the night before.
