Norwalk Street Department

About Norwalk Street Department

When snow comes down over Norwalk overnight, the city's own streets are the first thing that has to work by morning. The Norwalk Street Department runs those routes — the main streets opened first, then the residential grid, plows tracing the same lines through the dark until pavement shows again. Salt goes down on the grades and at the intersections where a stop actually matters. It is unglamorous, repeating work done in the coldest hours a Huron County winter can produce, and an entire town's ordinary morning rests on it. Snow removal for the streets of Norwalk, Ohio.
