Rice's Snow Removal

About Rice's Snow Removal

Snow work is half waiting. The forecast firms up around suppertime, the salt is already loaded, and then it is a matter of watching the radar loop crawl in from the northwest while North Royalton goes dark and quiet on its ridge. Rice's Snow Removal spends the rest of that night moving — driveways opened, walks taken down to bare concrete, salt laid where the afternoon melt will glaze over again after sundown. By the time the town wakes there is nothing to do but back out and go to work. The only proof anyone came is a tidy bank standing where the lawn used to be, and that is exactly how it should read.
