Three waters meet at Newark — North Fork, South Fork and Raccoon Creek folding into the Licking — and the low ground beside them keeps its fog until mid-morning. Palmers Lawncare goes out into that grey hour, when the grass is heavy and the town is quiet enough to hear a mower two streets over. Through the growing season it is mowing, trimming and edging, done on a schedule so nothing ever gets away from a yard. When February arrives with its freeze-and-thaw and the driveways go to glass overnight, the work turns to plowing and clearing walks so a car can get out and a mailbox can be reached. Same yards, same front doors, a different tool in hand.
