The wind comes across Dillon Lake with nothing to slow it, so Nashport gets its snow sideways about as often as straight down. Enviroscapes plows the driveways out along those county roads — long gravel runs opened with a careful hand, drifts cut back off the lane, walkways cleared to the step with salt where the north side stays frozen. Gravel takes a lighter touch than blacktop, and knowing the difference is most of the job. When the lake wind rebuilds a drift by morning, the truck comes back.
