Smokey Enterprises

About Smokey Enterprises

On a November morning the low ground along Dick's Creek holds its fog until nine, and woodsmoke drifts flat over the streets off Verity Parkway. Smokey Enterprises is out in it either way — mowing and trimming while the season still hands them grass, then leaf cleanups, then the switch to plowing and salting when the first real storm comes across from Indiana. Two kinds of work, one habit: start early, leave the place looking finished. A drive opened curb to garage door before the coffee goes cold, a lawn cut level and swept off at the walk — different months, same idea of a job closed out. Middletown and the towns ringing it keep that rhythm going all twelve.
