Area Land Management

About Area Land Management

South and west of town the land opens up — corn stubble, long farm drives, fencelines running off toward Seville and Westfield Center — and out there the wind does as much as the snowfall does. A drift can close a quarter-mile lane hours after the sky has cleared. Area Land Management plows those distances and the ordinary suburban drives too, then salts whatever refreezes behind the blade. There is a plain pleasure in cutting the first pass down a buried lane and watching the field reappear on either side. Wide country, narrow blade, one careful pass at a time.
