About Combs Turf Care

Grass in this township grows on old farm ground, and it remembers what is underneath: heavy clay, a shallow layer of topsoil, and a summer that tends to shut the tap off in August. Combs Turf Care treats a lawn as a soil question first — core aeration to open the ground up, seed dropped into those holes, then feeding and broadleaf weed control set to the calendar the season actually keeps. Weekly mowing and trimming hold the shape while the slower work goes on out of sight. Early on a damp morning, with fog still pooled along Gregory Creek, the plugs scattered across a lawn look like nothing at all; by October that same lawn is thick enough to cross barefoot. That turnaround is the entire point, and it is worth the waiting.
