Neidhart's Stump Removal

About Neidhart's Stump Removal

Past Marion's last streetlight the land goes flat and wide, cut by rail lines and section roads, the tree cover down to hedgerows and the windbreak beside a farmhouse. Neidhart's Stump Removal works that country and the town alike — dropping a hardwood that has gone hollow, trimming the rest back into shape, then grinding the stump below the surface so the ground can return to grass or gravel. Late winter suits the job: the soil is firm, the sightlines are clear, and nothing is in leaf to work around. Wind has a long run across these fields, and over time it decides which trees are worth keeping. The last thing done on any job is the rake, because a yard should look finished rather than worked on.
