About Shumaker’s lawn care and landscaping

Late in a summer afternoon the light comes up the valley behind Manchester and lands sideways across a mown lawn, showing every line in it. Shumaker's lawn care and landscaping works those hours — mowing yards in town and out along the back roads that climb into the Adams County hills, trimming in tight against gate posts and stone, edging drives and walks until the shape of a property comes back. Hill yards and bottom yards dry at different rates after a rain, so the route bends around whatever the week has done. Cleanups clear a yard in spring and again when the leaves let go. Cut, trimmed, edged, and the concrete blown off: that is the whole of it, and it is enough.
