A ridge lawn in Monroe County gets cut across the slope, never straight down it, and Malaga is nearly all ridge and hollow — the roads follow the high ground because the hollows are too steep to hold them. Stewart Lawn Care, LLC mows that country, trimming close along field edges and around fence posts, cutting the walk edges back into a clean groove. By mid-morning in August the heat comes up out of the hollows and the katydids start in before the last pass is finished. Cleanups carry a yard through the turn of the season at both ends of the year. An even lawn with the hills falling away blue behind it is a fine thing to stand and look at before loading up.
