About Derek & Derek

Branch Hill climbs away from the river fast enough that half an inch of snow changes how a driveway behaves. Derek & Derek plow that grade and the flats below it, opening drives and walks through the night so nobody has to reckon with the hill at seven in the morning, and laying salt where a daytime melt would only refreeze after dark. Come April the trucks give way to mowers: cutting, edging, spring cleanups, then the long summer rotation of lawns from the bottomland on up. Two seasons, one route, learned corner by corner. Loveland and its bordering townships are the whole map.
