About Steel Harbor Yardworks

By evening the light over the harbor goes long and copper, catching the lighthouse out at the breakwall and the ribs of the bascule bridge where the Black River hands itself to the lake. Steel Harbor Yardworks takes its name from that view and works to match it: mowing an unwavering line, string trimming along steps and posts, cutting a hard edge where lawn meets walk. Lake weather here is its own animal — it will drop rain on the east end of town and leave the west dry — so the schedule bends to the sky. What does not bend is the finish: clippings cleared, drive blown down, the yard handed back sharper than it was found. Ordinary work, done with attention, on streets that have always respected a thing that holds its shape.
