About May's Mowing And Landscaping

By the middle of May, Lima has turned all the way green: the silver maples along the park streets are fully out, and the slopes at Faurot Park look poured rather than planted. That is the month May's Mowing And Landscaping is named for, and the one the year builds toward — the first real cuts of a lawn that has finally decided to grow. The work runs from mowing and string trimming into landscaping, with beds shaped, borders defined and shrubs kept to their lines. A yard mowed well in May sets the tone for every week that follows it. Around Lima and Elida, that is the aim, one property at a time.
